The Mission

TABLY's mission is to make intelligent restaurant management accessible to restaurants of all sizes. Restaurants operate in fast-paced environments where staff must simultaneously serve customers, answer phone calls, manage reservations, and coordinate table availability. These responsibilities often create unnecessary pressure, missed booking opportunities, and operational inefficiencies. TABLY aims to solve this by combining an AI-powered telephone receptionist with an integrated reservation and table management platform. Our vision is to give restaurants a digital assistant that can handle customer enquiries and reservations while keeping staff informed through a simple, centralised dashboard. Rather than replacing hospitality professionals, TABLY enables them to spend more time delivering excellent customer experiences. We are initially developing a minimum viable product focused on automated telephone reservations, reliable real-time availability, and straightforward table management. Our long-term ambition is to develop a scalable SaaS platform that supports intelligent table allocation, guest management, multilingual communication, and more personalised dining experiences. Starting in the Netherlands and Cyprus, TABLY aims to make restaurant technology simpler, smarter, and more accessible without requiring businesses to completely change how they operate.

The Challenge

Restaurants frequently lose valuable time and potential revenue because reservation management remains fragmented and labour-intensive. During busy service hours, employees must divide their attention between guests in the restaurant and incoming telephone calls. Unanswered calls can represent missed reservations, while manual booking processes increase the risk of mistakes, double bookings, and inefficient table utilisation. Although restaurant management software already exists, smaller and independent restaurants may struggle with the cost, complexity, or operational disruption of adopting new technologies. There is an opportunity for a more accessible solution that combines automated customer communication with reliable reservation and table management. The challenge is not simply to automate telephone calls, but to ensure that every reservation is accurately reflected in the restaurant's actual availability, without creating additional work for employees. TABLY addresses this gap by focusing on simplicity, reliability, and integration between the customer booking experience and everyday restaurant operations.

The solution

TABLY is developing an integrated AI receptionist and smart table management platform designed specifically for restaurants. The solution combines two core components: 1. **AI Telephone Receptionist:** An AI-powered voice assistant that can answer incoming calls, respond to common customer enquiries, check reservation availability, and create bookings through a secure connection to the restaurant's reservation system. 2. **Restaurant Management Dashboard:** A centralised interface where restaurant staff can view reservations, manage tables, create or modify bookings, and monitor availability. Unlike a standalone AI chatbot, TABLY is designed around a shared reservation system. Both restaurant employees and the AI receptionist will use the same availability information, helping prevent conflicting reservations. Our initial MVP focuses on these essential capabilities, with the aim of testing the solution in a real restaurant environment. The concept builds on previous experimentation with an AI telephone receptionist for a restaurant in Cyprus, which helped identify both the potential of voice automation and the importance of simple integration. In the longer term, TABLY aims to introduce intelligent table allocation, guest profiles, multilingual services, and interactive floor plans. The business model is planned as a subscription-based SaaS service, allowing restaurants to access advanced technology without significant upfront investment.
