Our mission is to make computer interaction more accessible and by developing an electromyography (EMG)-based control platform. By translating muscle activity into digital commands, we aim to provide an alternative to traditional keyboard and mouse, particularly for people with limited hand mobility, as well as users seeking hands-free or alternative computer control.
The Challenge
Traditional computer interfaces rely heavily on precise hand and finger movements, creating barriers for people with motor impairments, injuries, or reduced dexterity. Existing alternative input devices can be expensive, restrictive, or difficult to customize. There is an opportunity for an affordable, adaptable and a full-package solution that allows users to control a computer through simple muscle movements.
The solution
We propose an affordable, wearable EMG-based computer control platform that detects muscle signals from locations such as the forearm or leg and translates them into mouse movements, clicks, scrolling, and keyboard commands. By combining EMG sensors with intelligent signal processing and AI-based gesture recognition, the platform will offer customizable controls that can adapt to different users and needs. Our goal is to develop a practical, low-cost alternative to conventional computer input devices.
