The Mission

The goal of HANDIPAL is to make it easier for people to find a handyman for the job they need done. Instead of spending time searching through different websites and comparing professionals, customers can describe what they need and get matched with handymen who have the right skills for the job. The idea is to make finding someone reliable quicker and less of a hassle, while also helping handymen connect with customers who need their services.

The Challenge

Finding the right person for a job around the house can be a hassle. Existing platforms often rely on fixed categories, which makes it harder to find help for more specific or unusual tasks. HANDIPAL lets users describe what they need in their own words and uses AI-powered text matching to connect them with suitable handymen or skilled students, even when their wording doesn't exactly match a service category.

The solution

HANDIPAL will be a platform where people can find someone to help with jobs they need done around the house, like installing flooring, assembling furniture or fixing things. Users will be able to describe what they need, and the platform with the help of AI matching algorithms will help connect them with suitable handymen or students who have the right skills. The goal is to make finding help less of a hassle, while also giving skilled people more opportunities to find work and earn some money.
