The Mission
Our mission is to bring everyday students the personalized tutoring and assistance that they either can't afford, or don't have access to, while also providing their university professors, teachers and tutors valuable and targeted, course specific feedback. With help of Coast, we can improve both ends of the educational systems worldwide.
The Challenge
We believe that every student in the world is entitled to, and most of them are in need of tutoring. However, it is apparent that not everybody has the access, or the financial background to make use of personalized tutoring. For that reason, a lot of students turn to convenient, considerably cheaper AI models for studying. While these models can be useful to an extent, they are not specifically made for this purpose, which often leads to inefficient studying and hinderance toward the students understanding of the material. On the other hand, this crisis cannot only be managed from the students' side, but from educational institutions' as well. What if these institutions and their professors could identify the certain weak points in course materials, with the help of relayed feedback from how the students' study, and in which topic they under-, or overachieve? By addressing this complex problem from both sides, Coast can be the catalyst of improving education around the world.
The solution
In short, Coast gives users access to cheap, convenient, 24/7 personalized tutoring. With the help of their devices and with a few clicks, users can have a specialized teaching assistant at their disposal whenever they need it. This AI assistant can identify where the user lacks knowledge, remembers what examples and explanations worked for the user, gradually improve the user's comprehension of the material and come up with examples and exercises of his own. Unlike other softwares, Coast's objective is not to directly solve a specific exercise for the user, but to help the user build up the routine and an understanding of how that exercise can be tackled through simple, but elaborative explanations and practice questions. Furthermore, as the number of users increase, Coast can identify weak points in specific institutions' specific course materials. This information can be relayed to the institutions, who can review and change these parts of the course material, hence improving student comprehension and performance from the get-go. Coast can improve the quality of life on both ends of the educational system. Students get the quality extra tutoring that they usually require to master their course, and professors get the valuable feedback they hardly ever get, so they can improve their methods and approach to how they teach.
