The Mission

We’re here to end the era of e-waste. By making it as easy to return a phone as it is to return a soda can, we’re turning 'trash' back into the tech of the future.

The Challenge

Let's face it: everyone has a drawer full of "ghosts"—old iPhones with cracked screens, tangled charging cables, and tablets that won't turn on. We don't throw them away because it feels wrong, but we don't recycle them because it’s a hassle. Meanwhile, the earth is being stripped of lithium and gold to make the next version of the same gadgets. This "buy-break-bin" cycle is a disaster. We’re sitting on a goldmine of raw materials, but right now, it’s just collecting dust in our hallways.

The solution

Technology Return fixes this by turning "trash" back into "value" through the Dutch Statiegeld model. Instead of making recycling a special trip, we build it into your weekly routine. We install secure, automated return kiosks in high-traffic spots like supermarkets and shopping malls. When you drop off an old device, the kiosk identifies it and instantly pays out a deposit—money that was baked into the original price of the tech—directly to your bank account or as a store voucher. To handle the "data fear" that keeps people from letting go of their old gear, every kiosk performs a certified data wipe or physical destruction on the spot. It turns the circular economy into something mindless and rewarding rather than a moral obligation.
