The Mission

Our mission as the founders of Edusables is to build a smart, student-driven platform that reduces waste and makes student life more affordable and efficient. We aim to create a peer-to-peer marketplace where students can easily buy and sell second-hand items such as books, furniture, and study materials, giving unused goods a second life instead of letting them go to waste. At the same time, we lower the financial burden on students by offering cheaper and more accessible alternatives to new products. Beyond transactions, our mission is to foster a circular economy within the student community, improve resource efficiency, and build a connected ecosystem where students help each other access what they need in a sustainable and impactful way.

The Challenge

Edusables addresses several key challenges faced by students in Maastricht. Many usable furniture items are wasted when students move out, contributing to unnecessary environmental waste. At the same time, students often struggle with the high cost of furnishing their rooms, as new furniture can be expensive on a limited budget. When leaving Maastricht, students also find it difficult to quickly and easily resell their furniture. The second-hand market is diverse, across multiple platforms, making the buying and selling process inefficient . Finally, students often lack access to affordable transport options for moving large furniture items between locations. EDusables offers cheap transportation
