The Mission

OptiModel aims to simplify the way students discover and use artificial intelligence in their academic lives. With an ever-growing number of AI models and tools available, choosing the right solution for a specific task can be confusing and time-consuming. The platform acts as a personalised AI advisor, analysing a student's question, task, or prompt to recommend the most suitable AI model. It also helps students optimise their prompts, understand the differences between available models, and achieve more relevant and reliable results. From academic research and essay planning to coding, data analysis, and exam preparation, OptiModel helps students make informed decisions about which AI tools to use and how to use them effectively.

The Challenge

Artificial intelligence is becoming an essential tool in higher education, but students often struggle to determine which AI model is best suited to their specific needs. Different models have different strengths, and a tool that performs well for writing may not be the most effective choice for coding, research, or complex data analysis. Many students rely on familiar AI tools without knowing whether a more suitable alternative exists. Additionally, creating effective prompts can be challenging, as the quality of AI-generated results often depends on how clearly a task is formulated and how much relevant context is provided. This leads to unnecessary trial and error, inefficient workflows, and results that may not fully meet students' expectations. Students need a simple way to navigate the AI landscape, select appropriate models, and improve their interactions with these tools.

The solution

OptiModel proposes an AI-powered recommendation platform that helps students identify the most suitable AI model and prompt for any given task and improve the prompts they use to achieve better results. Students enter their question, assignment, or intended outcome, and OptiModel analyses their requirements before recommending an appropriate model based on its capabilities and suitability for the task. For example, a student could enter a request for help analysing research papers. OptiModel would recommend a suitable AI model, explain why it fits the task, and provide an optimised prompt that the student can use directly.
