The Challenge

In Zimbabwe and much of Southern Africa, pharmacies and doctors still rely on handwritten prescriptions and manual insurance claims, leading to delays, medication errors, and lost records. Patients often travel between multiple pharmacies to find available medicines, while pharmacists face slow reimbursement from insurers due to paperwork and inconsistent data. These inefficiencies reduce patient trust, create unnecessary costs, and make it difficult to maintain accurate national health records especially in areas with unreliable internet connectivity.

The solution

MediCloud is a secure, cloud-based prescription and claim management platform that connects doctors, pharmacies, and insurers in one ecosystem.Doctors upload prescriptions directly into the cloud,allowingpharmacists to instantly access and verify them. The system automatically generates and submits digital insurance claims, reducing processing time from days to hours. Even in areas with unstable internet, MediCloud’s offline mode ensures continuous service by synchronising data once connectivity is restored. The platform eliminates errors, prevents fraud, and provides real-time data insights, enabling faster, safer, and more transparent healthcare delivery.
