The Mission
Find a way to make home decor both environmentally friendly, visually pleasing and functionally viable as a small energy source for a home. The project will require synthesizing a viable material waste product to recycle. Figuring out the right dimensional qualities of a stand, vase or decoration that can be applicable to different homes. And ensuring that the energy source can be functionally viable.
The Challenge
A major problem in this day and age is the consumption of menial plastic goods that get left to waste in the environment. Another issue is the lack utility most decorative pieces provide to a home. We realize that adding a functional component can be lacking on decorative goods which can make their overall desirability and commitment to keep low for consumers. Another problem is the functional reliance on plugs and sockets that contribute to an ever increasing energy demand. And while that is declining at a considerably fast rate, we believe that offering a wider range of sustainable energy sources can help make that transition from fossil fuel reliant to renewable solar easier.
The solution
Decorations of various sizes/shapes will be made in such way to house the ability to store a large battery pack and charging outlet. Applying the solar panel - the focus is to utilize lumen-tracking nodules to enable automated tracking of the sun, in order to maximize potential charging while also providing a neat 'dynamic' decoration to your home.
